Fleur Smith is a Yoga teacher and Ayurveda consultant who has a passion for life. She loves being healthy and keeping fit both mentally, physically & spiritually.

We took in a beautiful sunrise at Tugan, breathing in the suns almighty power as it woke up our little part of the world. We spoke about the importance of living a healthy, happy and sweaty life.  Enjoy the video and/or our conversation below.

Fleur says Yoga slows everything down and brings her back to breathe which is so important in this busy life. “It has given me a more peaceful, accepting and tolerant existence”.

“To sweat is something that should be done every single day. It’s important to detoxify the body and get rid of the toxins that build up in our bodies from the environment and from our own minds and from the foods we eat .”

As the sun rose and warmed up our bodies and we moved through a beautiful yoga practice I asked Fleur what advice she would give to the next generation about being a sweat seeker and choosing a sweaty high over drugs and alcohol.

“Exercise and yoga help give you a better understanding of your body and a deeper understanding of who you are and who you want to be as a person. I think it’s important to have a beautiful balance growing up but being able to always come back to exercise as a base instead of feeling bored on weekends and resorting to poor choices like drugs or alcohol.”

If you’d like to take a class with Fleur she takes yoga sessions at Tugun beach every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 6:15 am.
